Suspect your man has been cheating on you? Just need the proof? His credit card statement could be the best place to start snooping around. Here’s our guide to the top 10 ways for women to spot and trap a love rat!
1. Spending more money
You may be able to find out more about his infidelity by simply glancing at the credit card statement. If his statements are usually one page long with no outstanding balance to pay off and now they are several pages long with a large balance to pay ask yourself, what is going on? Is the large increase in credit card activity cause by a large increase in other activities?!
2. Salon style
Check his statement for salon visits. If your man is having a fling it is likely he might start to take better care of himself. Is he checking in for botox, facials or waxing? Could it be his new interest in his skin has more to do with looking young and sexy for his new lady?
3. Gym Membership
A new monthly debit for the gym could be a sign that your man is trying to get in shape to look good in the bedroom. His little by little weight loss might have passed you by, but the credit card statement won’t!
4. Secret Shopping Spree
Are there any sneaky shopping sprees on his bill. If your fella is buying new clothes that you’ve never seen, who is seeing all these new clothes? Could they be date clothes?
5. Mini Break
It may be an old one, but it’s a good one. Check credit card statements for hotel bookings. It may be that he is clever enough to pay for the room in cash, but he might have paid a deposit or the hotel bar bill on his card. Look for the small items on the statement as well as the big ones.
6. New Credit Cards
If your chap is playing away from home, he may be wise enough to make sure all his dating expenses go on a new credit card. Keep an eye out for credit cards you didn’t know he even had!
7. Large cash withdrawals
It might be that your man is well organised. Covering his tracks, and leaving as little evidence of his extracurricular activities as possible on the credit card statement. Is he using cash? Check the credit card statement for any unexpectedly large cash withdrawals!
8. New mobile contract
The more deceptive cheater will make sure that he is not caught out with their lover ringing the home phone. He will make sure there is a private line he can be reached at day or night. His credit card statement might contain the clues that point to a new mobile phone contract!
9. Flowers and gifts
Another oldie but a goodie, even if for the most part he has been very careful he may have slipped up once or twice and bought, flowers, chocolates, perfume or jewellery on his card. Were these gifts for you, or someone else in his life?
10. Houses and cars
For the very wealthy or the extremely unfaithful man his credit card statement could reveal signs of a deposit and rent on a love nest in town? Or has he been renting cars to drive all over with his new love, so his car will not be recognised?

I will tell you my story as a response to this “advice”:
My wife tried this kind of crap with me… after reading “advice” on the internet… searching through my card statements, searching through my phone, searching through my company email when I went for a smoke… She then went on to accuse me of cheating with any female name she could find in my address book. (by the way, I wasn’t cheating)
She even went so far as to hire a private eye to spy on me… using my money of course.
The result is that:
1) I now keep anything like this either locked away or at work.
2) I hate my wife now and do my best to avoid her when I am at home. (I am not nice to her at all)
3) She has no access to my money anymore, I pay bills directly and if she wants something more than basic necessities she has to work and use her own money. (this includes going out to dinner)
This kind of “advice” has ruined my marrage and ruined both my life and my wifes life, the only reason that I haven’t divorced her is because of the kids.
Think a bit before following this kind of “advice”
